Support - FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions
Q:  What is the latest B-liner Build?

A:  Build 2321.  You can find the build number by going to B-liner Help menu/About B-liner....

Q:  Does B-liner run on XP and Windows 2000?

A:  Yes.  B-liner, Build 2317 or later runs on XP as well as 95, 98, ME, NT, or  2000.
Builds previous to #2317 did not run on XP and some Windows 2000.  If you're having a problem, check the build #.  Go to B-liner Help menu/About B-liner....  The Build number is displayed.  If you have an earlier build than 2317, please download the latest.

Q: How do I get the 30 day free trial?

Q: Can B-liner read B-liner 98 or B-liner, Version 1.5 diagrams?

A: Yes. B-liner provides upwards compatibility, so any older B-liner diagrams can be read and used by B-liner. However, because of the extended features, B-liner diagrams can not be read by older versions of B-liner.  In other words: if you open and save a diagram in B-liner, you can not ever open that diagram in an older version of B-liner.

Q: Sometimes B-liner crashes. What do I do?

A: Report the crash at the B-liner Support Page  or send email to support@varatek.com.
Send as much specific information as you can so that we can try to repeat the crash.  Attach the diagram if possible.

Q: My diagram is displaying on the screen strangely. It appears messed up.

A: If you are running Windows 95 or Windows 98, there is a limit to the size of your diagram. This is a result of the operation system limitations.  Your diagram cannot be larger than 4 feet X 9 feet. Try scaling your diagram down, using a smaller font, or running B-liner on Windows NT.

Q: How can I show my diagram to someone else?

A:  There are two ways to show your diagram to others.

  1. Save the diagram as an HTML file.  Others can then view the diagram with
    Internet Explorer browser.
  2. Download the B-liner Viewer.

A:  Yes.  There is a problem with the "Timespan" Type.  It does not calculate correctly.  We are working on fixing the bug. In the meantime, do not use "Timespan" type.  Do not use the sample grids from the grid library that use a "Timespan" type.
