Hierarchical
spreadsheets are flexible structured forms |
|
|
|
|
A B-liner form
is a hierarchical break down with a data grid
displayed under each node. You make a new entry by
creating a node and filling in its grid. You
control how the information is organized and
described. New information is immediately rolled
up to the higher levels. You always see the big
picture.

| The example
above shows a fragment of a time billing
form. It breaks down clients into billable
activities. Each activity has a brief
description. The begin and end times along
with the date for each task are entered. The
time and charge for the task is calculated
automatically and rolled up to show the
total time and charge for the client as well
as your total time and charge for the week.
At the end of the week an XML file is
created by B-liner which is feed into the
corporate system to produce the billings.
